Welcome!  By browsing the Saint Helen Catholic School website, it is hoped that you will gain insight into our wonderful community of faith and the many opportunities available at our school. Saint Helen School offers a unique educational experience to Pre-K to 8th-grade students of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.  Our school is distinctively student-focused since our enrollment is typically about 200 to 250 students. We are committed to offering a faith-based education whose challenging curriculum is competitive and includes foreign language, arts enrichment, and values education. Our parents recognize that our intimate size works to their advantage when our dedicated faculty can offer their child a very personal, well-rounded education.

May it be known to all who enter our school and site that CHRIST is the reason for this school. He is the unseen but ever present teacher in its classes. He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration for its students.

Saint Helen Catholic is grateful to have parents and families that support its vision and goal of educating the whole child in a Catholic education that promotes Christian messages of peace, hope, love, and justice. Thank you for your support and interest in our school, Saint Helen Catholic School.

SCHOOL MASS

THEME: THE FEAST OF SAINT AGNES

The Feast of Saint Agnes is January 21st. She is the patron saint of young girls. Born in 291 AD in Rome, Italy. St. Agnes is one of the most famous early Christian virgin martyrs and she is mentioned in one of the Eucharistic prayers of the Mass. Because of the legend around her martyrdom, Saint Agnes is patron saint of those seeking chastity and purity. She is also the patron saint of young girls and girl scouts.

According to tradition, Agnes was a beautiful girl, about 12 or 13 years old, who refused marriage, stating that she would have no spouse but Jesus Christ.

Her suitors revealed her Christianity, which was then condemned as a cult. After refusing to renounce her faith, she was murdered during the persecution of the Christians by the Roman emperor Diocletian and was buried beside the Via Momentanes.
